Energy Balancing Therapy for Relaxation, Calm & Emotional Wellbeing

At Phoenix Massage, I offer Reiki healing as a gentle, non-invasive energy therapy designed to support deep relaxation, reduce stress and encourage overall emotional and physical balance.

Reiki works by focusing on the natural flow of energy within the body, helping to restore harmony and create a sense of calm, clarity and grounding.

Deep Relaxation & Stress Relief

Reiki is often chosen by clients who want to switch off from daily pressure and experience a deeply calming treatment.

It may help to:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Encourage deep relaxation
  • Support emotional balance
  • Promote a sense of calm and clarity
  • Restore inner grounding and wellbeing

Each session is calm, gentle and tailored to your comfort, allowing you to fully relax in a safe and supportive environment.

Supporting Mind, Body & Emotional Balance

Reiki is based on the idea of universal energy flow, working holistically to support the connection between mind, body and emotions. Many clients find it helpful as part of a wider wellbeing routine, especially during periods of stress, fatigue or emotional overwhelm. It is a quiet, restorative treatment that supports both relaxation and inner balance.

If you would like a more physical treatment then I would recommend a Deep Tissue massage or maybe a Swedish massage.

A Calm, Safe & Welcoming Space

At Phoenix Massage, I provide a respectful and inclusive environment where every client is welcomed and treated with care.

Your comfort, privacy and wellbeing are always my priority. I aim to create a calm, judgement-free space where you can fully relax, feel comfortable and enjoy your treatment with complete peace of mind.

I welcome people of all backgrounds and body types, and I am committed to offering a supportive experience where everyone feels valued, respected and at ease.

Reiki Healing FAQs

What happens during a Reiki session?

During a Reiki session, you remain comfortably positioned while the treatment is carried out in a calm and quiet setting.

Reiki is traditionally practised by placing the hands lightly on or just above different areas of the body. The session is designed to give you time to slow down, relax and step away from everyday pressure.

Do I need to remove my clothes for Reiki?

No. Reiki is usually carried out while you remain fully clothed.

Comfortable clothing is ideal so you can settle into the treatment and relax without feeling restricted.

Does Reiki involve physical touch?

Reiki can be performed with very light touch or with the practitioner’s hands held just above the body.

Your personal boundaries and comfort will always be respected. If you prefer no physical contact, this can be discussed before your session.

Is Reiki the same as massage?

No. Reiki and massage are very different treatments.

Massage works directly with muscles and soft tissues through physical techniques such as pressure, kneading and flowing movements.

Reiki is a much gentler therapy and does not involve manipulating muscles. If you are looking for more physical treatment for muscular tension, Swedish Massage or Deep Tissue Massage may be more suitable.

What does Reiki feel like?

Everyone experiences Reiki differently.

Some people report feeling warmth, tingling, heaviness or a sense of deep calm during their session. Others simply feel relaxed and may not notice any particular physical sensation.

There is no correct way that Reiki is supposed to feel.

What if I fall asleep during Reiki?

That is absolutely fine.

Reiki sessions can be very relaxing, and some people naturally drift into sleep or a deeply restful state. You do not need to remain alert or concentrate on anything for the session to continue.

Do I need to meditate during Reiki?

No. You do not need any experience with meditation, mindfulness or spiritual practices.

You can simply close your eyes, relax and enjoy having some quiet time without needing to achieve a particular mental state.

Do I have to believe in Reiki for the session to be worthwhile?

No particular spiritual belief is required to book Reiki.

Some clients are interested in the traditional idea of energy healing, while others simply enjoy the session as a quiet and relaxing wellbeing experience.

You are welcome to approach Reiki in whichever way feels most comfortable for you.

Is Reiki a religious treatment?

No. Reiki is not tied to a particular religion and you do not need to follow any spiritual belief system to receive a treatment.

Although Reiki has spiritual and traditional concepts associated with it, sessions at Phoenix Massage are offered as an inclusive wellbeing experience.

What is meant by Reiki energy?

Traditional Reiki practice is based on the idea of universal life energy being channelled through the practitioner to support balance and wellbeing.

This concept belongs to Reiki tradition and has not been scientifically established as a measurable form of energy in the same way as recognised physical energies.

At Phoenix Massage, Reiki is offered as a complementary relaxation and wellbeing therapy.

Can Reiki diagnose health problems?

No. Reiki should not be used to diagnose a medical or mental health condition.

If you have unexplained symptoms, persistent pain, significant emotional distress or concerns about your health, you should seek appropriate professional medical advice.

Can Reiki replace medical treatment?

No. Reiki is a complementary therapy and should not replace medical treatment, medication, psychological support or advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

It can instead be enjoyed alongside appropriate healthcare as part of your broader relaxation and wellbeing routine.

Is there scientific evidence that Reiki works?

Research into Reiki has produced mixed results, and there is currently limited evidence supporting claims that Reiki can treat specific medical conditions.

Some people nevertheless report finding Reiki relaxing and enjoyable. At Phoenix Massage, the treatment is offered for relaxation, personal wellbeing and the experience of taking dedicated time for yourself rather than as a medical treatment.

Can Reiki help when I feel stressed or overwhelmed?

Many people choose Reiki during periods when they feel busy, mentally tired or in need of quiet time.

A calm treatment environment and dedicated period of rest can provide an opportunity to slow down and relax. Reiki should not, however, replace professional support for persistent anxiety, depression or other mental health concerns.

How will I feel after Reiki?

Everyone responds differently.

You may feel particularly relaxed, sleepy, refreshed or simply calmer after spending time away from everyday distractions. There is no particular sensation that you need to experience for your session to have been enjoyable.

What should I do after a Reiki treatment?

There are no complicated aftercare requirements.

You may simply want to give yourself a little time to enjoy the relaxed feeling after your treatment, stay hydrated and avoid immediately rushing into a particularly stressful schedule where possible.

How often should I have Reiki?

There is no fixed schedule.

Some people book Reiki occasionally when they feel they need time to relax, while others choose to include it regularly within their personal wellbeing routine.

How frequently you book is entirely based on your preferences and how you feel after treatment.

Is Reiki suitable for someone who does not like massage?

Yes. Reiki may appeal to people who would like a relaxing treatment but do not enjoy pressure, massage techniques or removing clothing.

Because Reiki is extremely gentle and can be performed without direct physical contact, it offers a very different experience from traditional massage.

Can Reiki be combined with massage?

Yes. Some clients enjoy Reiki and massage as separate treatments within their wider wellbeing routine.

Massage provides a more physical experience for muscular relaxation, while Reiki offers a quieter and gentler approach focused on rest and relaxation.

Is Reiki suitable for a first time holistic therapy client?

Yes. You do not need any previous experience with Reiki or complementary therapies.

I can explain what will happen before your session begins, and you are welcome to ask questions at any stage. The treatment is designed to be calm, straightforward and comfortable.
